Marc Marquez is no longer a surprise sensation. His rookie campaign on the premier class circuit resulted in his becoming the youngest-ever MotoGP World Champion. He would have no sophmore slump, jamming out of the gates with 10 wins to begin the season before locking up a second consecutive world championship with three races remaining in the season. The young Spanish sensation, with his signature smile, has rewritten and rewritten once again the history books of the sport. Marquez is well on his way to claiming his place as one of the elite riders in the sport’s storied history.
Arriving to the international scene with a pair of World Championship titles already under his belt (125cc in 2010 and Moto2 in 2011), there was no doubt that his move to premier class would have an impact on the series standings. But coming onto the world stage and claiming the championship not only proved his natural ability: It also started a new era in itself.
